Red is not a color you pick because it matches the couch. It is the color we wear so nobody serving overseas has to wonder if the country went quiet.

This mark is for the ones on the ground today. For the ones who already did their time and came home different. And for the ones whose deployment did not end with a handshake at the airport.

Wear it on Friday. Wear it any day the news cycle moves on and they do not.
